don’t be idle

Keep your mind clear, and be alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion as he looks for someone to devour.

~1 Peter 5:8-9, GW~

warriorThere’s a difference between a clear mind and an empty mind. The first is to de-clutter one’s mind of unhelpful things, of hindrances and nuances; the latter is just empty, stagnant– a mind in plateau.

If I keep on resting, I might keep my guard down, and there the enemy can attack me. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” So I must always do things to keep my mind working.

We can rest our mind from a hard day’s work, but we must not forget that the enemy is just around us, waiting for us to be “at ease” — a time for him to destroy us with his mind attacks. If we want rest, let us rest in God’s presence, where righteousness and grace reign.

Be firm in the faith and resist him, knowing that other believers throughout the world are going through the same kind of suffering. God, who shows you his kindness [grace] and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and support you as you suffer for a little while. Power belongs to him forever. Amen. (vv. 9-11)

three verses

Wow another year has passed by, and here we are, at 2013. Time really flies by so quickly. When I was a kid I’ve never thought that the world would reach until this far (because y’know, Astroboy is set on 2030, and Marty McFly time-traveled to 2015. I thought the 21st century would introduce us to flying cars and silver uniforms in tights XD).

So much for that.2013resolutions_122712-thumb-640xauto-7388

I was planning to write on New Year’s Eve, but I got caught up in many household chores and errands. That certain day is always busy, because it’s my special day— another year has also been added to my age. Haha! (There goes my youth… lol) But in line of this I want to share my three life verses— ones that have truly struck me, and motivated and inspired me, taught me to be more mature as I walk daily in this Christian journey.
