I ♥ God’s Word

Psalms 119:127
“Therefore I love Your commandments
More than gold, yes, than fine gold!”

“How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (v. 103)

God’s words are a treasure, that we must always keep in our hearts, and keep digging it up for more of God’s understanding and revelation. His words are the sweetest things we could fill our mouths with, for His promises are sure and will certainly come to pass. Taste and see that the Lord is good, through His words.

“More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” (Psalm 19:10)

On teaching, legalism, and young role models

devotional_notebook

Most of my blog posts are birthed out from my devotionals, and sometimes I write them down as is. I’m not really good in fancy terms and words, and even not good in creating titles (haha). But I’m trying.

This one I wrote out of a growing burden about teaching and legalism inside the church. Continue reading

Solo Overnight Mode, as I call it

Solo Overnight Mode, as I call it

For the past weeks I’ve been up until 4 in the morning because of our thesis (educational game development). Our group is consists of three members: one is in charge of the overall animation (Unity 3D), the other is of design (Photoshop), and I in 3D modeling (Blender) and design also. The game’s theme is underwater adventure, and the main character is a yellow submarine. In the first place, what really made me think hard was how to make its propeller rotate. Because of my limitations in animation know-how, I told my group mates to just leave the propeller behind just for a while, while we focus on more urgent things necessary on the gameplay.

A couple of nights ago, we decided to add some challenges in the game, so I was told to create a spike bomb/ball– a rolling one. Aw. I was still finding good tutorials on YouTube about animation or simple movements, and good thing I saw one, a movement similar to what we wanted to achieve. After several minutes, I made the spike ball move, but still not rolling. The video actually showed how to change/rotate directions of a single part of a mesh (the model, or the object) while moving on a path, but at that time I really couldn’t understand (maybe because I was already sleepy).

After giving my mind a break, I watched the video again and resolved to myself that I’m gonna follow everything this man was saying… and voila! I actually did it… Continue reading

finished– finally!

April 20, 2012

Memorable date for me.. because I’ve finished– finally– my Bible reading, from Genesis to Revelation ! Yay! It’s really an achievement. Actually I started last 2009 (I think it was May 4…); it took me almost 4 years to really complete it, because there came so many disturbances and hindrances in my life, and just sadly I had let myself be swerved by them. BUT, still it’s all because of God’s grace, strength and guidance that I have finished it all :D

That was my mentor’s first assignment. He said he’s gonna give me a new Bible, one that I will read from Genesis to Revelation, again ^_^. I’m really excited!

I have learned lots and lots of things– about the history of Israel through the Bible, and God’s true nature. I know I have so much to learn and re-learn through this journey, and I thank the LORD that He’s given me the privilege to know and understand His Word.

Woohoo! All glory and honor and thanksgiving belongs to our King!!!

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. (Philippians 3:12-15, ESV)

just for now

Hmm.. I’m still awake! I’ve figured out that people who sleep late are likely having several stuff going on in his mind (like, problems.. and stuff). In my case, one of the ways that I do when I don’t get to sleep immediately is to think some thing. Haha, weird huh? It’s like inception — going through that thing until I’m so deep, and then next thing I know I’m asleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I've come a long way...

Well, it’s the third day today since I started not to log on at Facebook. Is it because of the issue of spams all around the network? Hmm, kind of. But then, I really decided to try not to be active for a day or two (I’m sure this blog is posted at my wall– it’s automatic!).

For the past two days, I’ve managed to reach the Gospel of Mark, and finished it that very same day. I give all the glory to God :) The next few hours, I’m gonna be at my school (again, for the 3rd time ~), all for the sake of my OJT requirements.

For the past days that I’ve not been active, I tried being social at Google+. I have 10 contacts. They have games, also, and cool features like the YouTube strip (I don’t know what it’s called) where you can automatically search and watch videos without adding another tab, … I suppose people are thinking they need a Gmail account to log in, but no, any email account will do :D

For the past days also, I’ve realized that even though I’m out of the FB world (for the meantime), it’s still the same– I’m still sleeping hours after midnight. But with less worries of pending notifications :P

It’s really a trial. I think we can all live even without Facebook. And I’m still not enticed to local telecom’s commercials here about having postpaid accounts just to be active nearly forever.

Wait. No, I’m not a Facebook-hater. I’m just trying to be away from all its online ruckus. There’s so much thing to do, to learn, and to unlearn!

to be continued…
